Your pet needs to have a relationship with our practice before we schedule an in home visit with a specialist. Our veterinarian needs to physically examine your pet and review records. Once that is established and our veterinarian agrees that an cardiology assessment is necessary, then we will coordinate the sonographer visit
There will be 2 teams of professionals in your home – our team and the cardiology team. It is required to have our veterinarian during the visit for legal purposes, as technically you will not form a relationship with the specialist. They are there to perform their procedures and diagnostics, but ultimately, our veterinarian is the main point of contact and the professional responsible for your pet’s care and treatment plan.
This will depend on your area and zone assignment. Our specialists can also charge an out of service area fee. You can give us a call or send us a text or email so we can compute this for you.
We will have a plan for your pet once we receive the formal report from the specialist. This may take 1-3 business days. Our veterinarians will have recommendations based on this report and we will help execute all these treatment plans.
All communications will go to our practice. We prefer emails for this type of questions as our veterinarians are always out of office doing house calls. If the inquiry will require a visit, we can schedule this with our veterinarian. If the inquiry will require an assessment from the specialist, our veterinarian will schedule a consult with the specialist and may incur additional fees.
